So, what does Jim Farley mean for Mark Fields?
It's a question on the minds of a lot of folks, including Ford dealers, after Farley, 45, a Toyota executive, was named Ford Motor Co.'s group vice president and chief marketing and communications officer.
Fields, 46, is Ford's president of the Americas and an executive vice president. That seems to situate the two as possible CEOs in the future.
If Fields is worried, he's not showing it. On Thursday, he sent a memo to his staff that said: "Jim is a seasoned pro who can lend a much-needed perspective to the company about how to market and communicate the Ford brand on a global basis. We should all look forward to working closely with him."
For now, some Free Press readers like the youthful duo, who both sport longer hair. As one wrote: "Go team mullet!"
