They may both illuminate together since they share the same module to indicate a malfunctioned anti-lock braking system that could interfere with your steerability or stability.

Generally, a TRAC light coming on is a good sign, but when combined with an ABS light, it’s something to be worried about. So Without pondering “why my 2010 jeep liberty abs light and traction control light is on“, you better check the inner connections. Start with the soft ones like the brake, speed sensor, steering wheel, etc.

If you can’t find any issue with them, go toward the fuse. You must work accordingly and know exactly why the light is glowing on the screen. And this is the article that’ll enlighten you regarding the issue with full fledge advice and solutions.

Why are My 2010 Jeep Liberty ABS Light and Traction Control Light On

Why my 2010 jeep liberty abs light and traction control light is on?

Not so comfy to see your abs light and traction control light on in your car. You would want to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

But first, let’s know why it is happening. There are some reasons, right? Here you go with a list of some of our researched result that causes ABS and tractions to control the light on all the time in your car.

1. A Malfunctioned Anti-Lock Brake System

A Malfunctioned Anti-Lock Brake System

You might be unaware that your ABS and traction control have enabled the anti-lock braking module. So, whenever there is any problem, you’ll see the light glow.

So, it’d be wiser if you go on and check the anti-lock system first. A faulty ABS will feel like it’s vibrating and groaning. You may also find the brake pedal unresponsive.

2. Low Brake Fluid

The brake status of the car is related to the ABS light. Typically, portraying the condition of the brake is the goal, but it somehow displays the fluid condition of the brake.

This fluid is essential. Otherwise, your car will not run perfectly or smoothly. Also, you’ll have some hazardous conditions when you apply the brake, which might fail sometimes.

Spongy brake pedals, longer stops, and discolored/dirty brake fluid indicate it’s time to get some brake fluid in your Liberty.

3. Damaged Wheel Speed Sensor

Damaged Wheel Speed Sensor

Wheel speed sensors are simple. They measure the speed at which your wheel is running. Mostly, it says the condition of your wheel at present and lets you know about its health.

This sensor is related to your car’s traction control light. When this sensor is not lightening up, the wheel speed sensor is damaged. You have to go on to make up the sensor to work well, then.

It does not always mean that your sensor is damaged or broken. Sometimes, the wheel speed sensor might be jammed with dirt or dust. Clearing it off will solve the issue.

4. Tractions Control is Turned Off

You are never recommended to turn off the traction control of your car. But sometimes, as a driver, you might require to turn it off. If you have forgotten to turn it on after turning it off, it’s possible that you’ll see the ABS light and traction control light illuminated together.

5. Blown Fuse

Blown Fuse

If there is any broken wire or detachment between the controller and the system sensor, there are chances that your ABS light will remain on. Usually, it also means that your car’s fuse is blown.

The PCM sends the signal to your ABS and Check Engine Light, which glow. So, you know what to do now; check the fuse properly in your Liberty. Check this video out to replace it if you find it damaged.

6. Faulty Steering Angle Sensor

The steering angle sensor is essential to measure the steering wheel angle, position, and return. You’ll see the ABS light glow whenever any issue regarding the wire detachment, sensor error, or mechanical issue arises. For faulty sensors in your Liberty, it’s better to seek help from professional mechanics.

7. Low Battery Voltage

This is arguably the most common happening for your ABS to glow all the time in your 2010 Liberty Jeep. Whenever there is an issue with the battery, it tells the ABS control and glows.

The issue can be anything. Like the voltage is low, there is dirt in the battery, the battery is misfunctioning, or you need to change the battery ASAP. So, checking or giving a slight push to your battery might be sensible under the case.
